Thanks to our tropical climate and friendly communities, it’s always a great time to get together to celebrate! Whether you love fine arts and crafts, or craft beer and wings, there’s something for everyone in Indian River County. There are tons of events and festivals going on all year long, so come visit and join the fun!
The Vero Beach Art Club brings a creative flair to town with a number of shows and fairs throughout the year. An annual highlight in March is Under The Oaks, a three day juried fine art Riverside Park. This event brings 200 artists from all over the nation and world. It is among the top of its kind in the country and draws crowds of more than 80,000.
Sebastian certainly holds its own in terms of art and culture. January is the month for the Riverfront Fine Arts and Music Festival, which first hit the scene in 1999 and continues to grow with each passing year. It now draws over 20,000 visitors for this community bash along the scenic Indian River.
If you’re looking for something that’s pure Florida, then you can’t miss the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival! With its famous Frog Leg and Gator Tail Dinners, midway rides, games, music and over 100 crafters, the whole town is hopping!
Still hungry? Make time to do a weeklong restaurant crawl of the top dining establishments around town. Restaurant Week gives Indian River County’s foodies a chance to sample diverse dining opportunities in October. With a focus on locally-sourced, seasonal products and supporting local restaurateurs, this is the perfect time to take a week off from kitchen duty!
Another wildly popular cuisine-centric event comes every November with the Sebastian Clambake Festival. This three day extravaganza of seafood, historical enactments and zany raft races promises fun for the whole family, while supporting the community through grant programs for non-profits courtesy of the Clambake Foundation.
The Hibiscus Festival lights up downtown Vero Beach every April, with food, music, and, of course, the Miss Hibiscus Pageant. This fun annual event raises funds for Main Street Vero Beach to continue their mission of the growth and preservation of this historic city.
No matter the month, the First Friday Gallery Stroll is a popular evening affair. Vero’s galleries and local merchants in historic downtown invite you to stroll through and enjoy new artwork each month in a lively atmosphere.
These events are only a few of the exceptional festivities Indian River County has in store for visitors. We’d love for you to join us!
