Fellsmere, the most rural town in Indian River County, is located in the northwestern part of Indian River County. The beautiful natural resources of the Stick Marsh make this one of the hottest trophy bass fishing lakes in the Country. It is also home of the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, which boasts the Guiness Book of Records for the largest frog leg festival in the world. Fellsmere is the home of the National Elephant Center which opened in 2013. The National Elephant Center is the result of a unique collaboration among zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, individuals and organizations to ensure elephants remain a part of our future.
