Chefs Of Indian River County With John & Heather Chianis

Our foodie insider, Thomas Miller, continues his series featuring chefs all over Indian River County!

Join me for this new video series where I sit down with local chefs from Indian River County Florida and ask them questions to learn more about them! In this episode, we sit down with the new owners of Pepper & Salt BBQ, John & Heather Chianis!

Get the inside scoop on one of Vero Beach’s hottest new restaurants Pepper & Salt BBQ. Owners, John and Heather Chianis lived in Houston, TX from 2017 – 2020. During that time, John started smoking meat as a hobby, and perfecting his craft. With family ties in Vero Beach, they decided to move to the area, set roots, and open their own BBQ restaurant. So, what’s so special about this type of BBQ? The meat is slow smoked for 15+ hours and is only seasoned with salt & pepper. If you have never tried it, get in line, literally, because the food here is so good, a line forms before they even open, and with a limited capacity to only smoke so much meat per day, they run out pretty quickly.
