Fun In The Sun In Indian River County

When looking for fun outdoor activities, look no further than Indian River County! From exploring water adventures, skydiving, walking trails, and places to have drinks with friends, Indian River County is your one-stop shop for all things fun in the sun! Join us this March to explore everything Indian River County has to offer!

Water Adventures

In Indian River County, you have so many opportunities to explore the water! If you prefer the “Salt life” then you should consider exploring the S.S. Breconshire with Paddles by the sea. It is a 300-foot-long ship that wrecked off the coast of Vero Beach in 1894. It is now home to a variety of marine life and is only located 150 yards off the coast. Making it a perfect place to kayak, paddle, or snorkel too!

With the Environmental Learning Center and Paddles By The Sea, you also have the opportunity to explore the Indian River Lagoon with kayaks, paddle boards or rented pontoon excursions. You can also book guided tours to learn more about the history of the lagoon. Guided tours will also give you plenty of opportunities to see dolphins, manatees, river otters, and more.

Sky’s The Limit

Enjoy the most scenic skydiving experience that Florida has to offer at Skydive Sebastian! You will be blown away by the view of the Sebastian inlet and the Atlantic Ocean while you are freefalling. Once you’ve landed, you will enjoy a coastal environment, and if you’re hungry, walk over to The Zoo Bar Café located at Skydive Sebastian for food and drinks!

Trailing Along

When looking for different ways to explore Florida’s natural beauty, walking local trails is one of the activities that come to mind. Each trail has a unique feel, making it hard to pick just one to explore. Here are two of the most popular trails in Indian River county.

The Historic Jungle Trail begins in Pelican Island Natural Wildlife Refuge. It was the first wildlife refuge established in 1903 by Teddy Roosevelt to protect birds from feather hunters. With beautiful scenery and the ability to see pelicans, egrets, herons, and ospreys, the Historic Jungle Trail is the perfect place to explore.

The Lagoon Greenway trail offers a mile-long trail, a 2.5-3 mile trail, and a short Mini-adventure trail. Each has beautiful lush scenery that will provide you with the escape you have been looking for!

Drink Happy Thoughts

When all is said and done, and the outside fun is over, the next best thing to do is cool off and have one or two drinks. The best places to do that are through the Treasure Coast Wine & Ale Trail! On the trail, here are the breweries located in Indian River County. American Icon BreweryPareidolia Brewing CompanyMash Monkeys Brewing Co., and Walking Tree Brewery. With so many options to choose from, we hope that you try them all and tell us which one is your favorite!
