Holiday Gift Guide – Support Local

The holiday season may look a little different this year than what we are used to. This is why we are encouraging all of our locals and visitors to support our local businesses by shopping local.  Whether that be a membership at some of our unique museums, children experiences, gyms, a gift card at a favorite local restaurant or a spa package at some of our award winning spas.  Below is a list of some local favorites.  We are certain that you will find something for everyone in your life.

For the Fashionista

We all have that “trend setting” friend or family member that is just so hard to shop for.  But fret no more! We have some of the most unique and one of a kind boutiques in Indian River County that won’t disappoint.  Seahorse Lane located in the Historical Downtown Vero Beach, has holiday gift sets, greeting cards, boho chic options and also locally made jewelry for you to choose from.

For the Artsy

Most of us enjoy a beautiful piece of art whether it be a sculpture, or a painting, a play or an urban mural.  Well look no further because we got you covered!  Our “art scene” is one that is least expected by  most but impactful to many. With hundreds of galleries to choose from, our county is also home to the Vero Beach Museum of Art.  It was founded by the Alliance for the Arts, established in 1978 solely to create a regional center for the appreciation and teaching of the arts and humanities. They offer membership packages and a gift shop full gifting options for the “Artsy” in your life.

For the History Buff

Living in Florida you can’t help but to find yourself learning about it’s unique history. From the shipwrecks full of treasure, to the underground railroad stop to the   Indian River County has had many monumental historical events occur throughout the years that most visitors make it a family tradition to visit annually or more often.  Indian River County is the citrus capital of North America and there is more than a century of history tied to the famous Indian River Citrus. Over 7.5 million bushels are shipped around the globe every year! Chances are, you purchase it weekly at your local grocery store and aren’t aware it comes from our area. You can visit the Vero Beach Citrus Museum located in the Heritage Center in downtown to learn about its rich history, but to really experience what our county has to offer, get out and visit one or more of the few remaining family-owned farm stores and enjoy what is truly the best citrus in the world!

For the Outdoor Adventurist

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, seeking a remarkable romantic memory, or you just want to get your adrenaline pumping, Skydive Sebastian has a jump with your name on it. Buckle-up for tandem jumps or independent falls with a team of accredited professionals to assist at every level.

For the Foodie

One experience that we are most proud of in our county is the culinary options our visitors and locals get to indulge in.  We have authentic taquerias, Italian cuisine with recipes passed down from generation and everything in between.  We partnered up with The Treasure Coast Foodie Blogger to cover all of the “gems” in our county.  Thomas Miller is his name and aside from his exquisite palate and articulate reviews of our restauranteurs, he also offers a Savor Club that offers members discounts at most of these eateries for a yearly membership.

For the Coffee Lover

Now this was one that we take quite seriously and that’s our coffee shops! Our Foodie Insider visited each one of these locations and coined them as the, “Top 3 Coffee Shops” in our county.  Rio Coco Beans is a roastery that’s mission is to build schools in Nicaragua through the sales of their coffee.  Besides their delicious coffee, they also serve up the tastiest and “health conscience” baked goods, soups, salads, sandwiches and bowls you’ll ever have!  We are certain one of these will be able to fill the heart of the “Coffee Lover” in your life this Holiday Season!

For the Zen Guru

Self care is something we should all do more of.  That’s why we made sure we included this section in our Holiday Gift Guide.  Our award winning spas have upheld strict hygiene protocols and the well-being for their guests continue to always be their top priority.  Considering to give the gift of relaxation, you should consider Costa d’Este’s CF|Spa.  From frozen grapes on the pool deck and sunrise yoga to signature body treatments in the C|Spa and wellness inspired food and drink in The Wave, Costa d’Este has relaxation mastered!  Once of these self care services will achieve what the “Zen Guru” expects from a spa treatment.

For the Health Nut – Gift Card or Membership

Our community offers many opportunities for the “Health Nut” in your life to exercise (pun intended) they’re workout goals.  But perhaps they’ve been wanting to try out a boxing class and don’t know where to go?  Well, we offer that here as well! Although TBLB Fitness isn’t the only boxing gym in our county, it is definitely all the rage!  They offer kid’s classes, individual classes, group classes and even train professional fighters for their next big fight!  Sam and Travis are the owners and are both certified in boxing and have a passion for wellness and helping their clients achieve their health goals.  They have monthly memberships and per class options also.  Something for everyone in the family!

For the Kids

Indian River County is a family friendly community. We take great pride in offering something for families and children of all ages.  From story times being offered at various locations, parks and beaches for you to enjoy. We work hard to make sure that we cater to your needs.  With arts, culture and many outdoor activities for you to choose from.  Our latest program launched this fall is The Treasure Coast Kids Quest. It is a “treasure filled” experiential trail where you and your child or children will visit all 6 locations such as, The Environmental Learning Center, McKee Botanical Garden, Vero Beach Museum or Art, LaPorte Farms, Mel Fisher’s Museum and Countryside Citrus Farms.  This is a contact free course, meaning that you won’t be required to touch anything specific.  You will get a prize after you visit each location, take a picture, tag us @visitindianriver and the location you visit and follow the map (which reveals the object that you will take a pic next to) that you will pick up at any one of our partners.  For more information visit: https://treasurecoastkidsquest.com/
