There’s nothing quite like watching sea turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean! Sea turtle watch programs begin with an educational program about Florida's sea turtles and sea turtle nesting in Indian River County. Following, participants are given the opportunity to view a Loggerhead sea turtle nesting on the beach. These educational programs are conducted under a state permit and should not be attempted without a state-permitted guide.
What to expect on a tour: Be ready to walk up to a mile on the beach. Bring insect spray to repel mosquitoes. The entire program lasts an average of 3-hours, therefore, you may want to bring a bottle of water. Because of the late program time and the potentially long walk on the beach, this program is not recommended for children under age 7, elderly or disabled. Flashlights, filming, and photography with any technological devices are not permitted.
